Mill Creek Campground, situated on Berlin Lake in northeast Ohio, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The tent and RV park campsite offers a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, hunting, playgrounds, a volleyball court and a nature trail if you’re up for a short walk. With 295 campsites, options range from wooded lakeside spots to grassy sites with plenty of sun, some of which offer electric hookups. Campers can enjoy modern amenities such as restrooms, showers, a dump station and a boat ramp. Reservations are required and can be made online. Please note that alcohol, fireworks and firearms are strictly prohibited.

Mill Creek Camping Site Options
There are a variety of camping options available, including tent sites and RV sites. Camping fees vary based on the type of camping site and whether or not it has an electric hookup. Campers can also choose to bring their furry friends along as well thanks to a variety of pet-friendly options.
Wildlife
Nature lovers appreciate the abundant wildlife surrounding Berlin Lake and Mill Creek Campground. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources manages over 6,800 acres of public land for hunting and wildlife conservation. Visitors may spot ospreys nesting near the lake and occasionally bald eagles. The surrounding beech and maple trees provide shade and spectacular colors in the fall.
Hunting
Hunting is permitted in designated areas around the lake, with small game species being especially common. The wildlife management program ensures sustainable hunting while preserving local ecosystems.
Berlin Lake
Berlin Lake is located on the Mahoning River and covers 3,590 acres with 70 miles of shoreline. The banks of the lake have gentle to moderate slopes for easy access, and much of the surrounding area is covered in beech and maple trees for shade. Best known for walleye fishing, the lake is a popular spot for boating, swimming and fishing. Other fish species include largemouth and smallmouth bass, channel catfish, muskie, crappie and bluegill.
Noah’s Lost Ark Animal Sanctuary
Located just one mile south of Mill Creek Campground and Berlin Lake is
Noah’s Lost Ark Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Exotic Animal Sanctuary that provides a permanent safe haven for unwanted and abused exotic animals. It houses a variety of animals, including lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, bobcats, lynx, wolves, coyotes, foxes, bears, camels, zebras and primates. The sanctuary and gift shop are open seasonally from May 15th through October 31st. Noah’s Lost Ark is dedicated to promoting conservation through education and offers educational guided tours, as well as a petting zoo, making it a popular destination for children. The sanctuary is supported by donations, members, sponsors, fundraising events, animal sponsorship programs and admission fees.
Making a Reservation
To make a reservation at Mill Creek Campground, you must book ahead of time. Book online at recreation.gov. All sites are reservation only. Same-day rentals can be made when available. Check-in at the entrance station.
Cancellation
If you need to make changes or cancel your reservation, it’s best to do so as early as possible to allow other visitors to book available sites and to avoid late fees.
