The product of a generous donation from a local family, The Clarence R. Smith Mineral Museum showcases high quality specimens from around the world! The collection includes gemstones, cabochons, petrified wood, fossils, meteorites, geodes, fluorescent "glow-in-the-dark" pieces, and minerals of every shape and color. Some visitor favorites include the carved mastodon tusk, large pieces of amethyst, and the fossilized dinosaur feces. Admission to the museum is always free. The museum is located on the first floor of Moser Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University. Parking is available at curbside meters on Lincoln Avenue or in the Wick Avenue parking deck (fees may apply).
